We’re in a holding pattern. So much of client services—and reporting, our old trade—is waiting. Pitch a client (or story), and wait. Reach out to a source, wait. Turn in the work, and wait for client feedback. I’m impatient, so I’m not very good at the waiting game. But waiting is a good problem to have. We’re working with a handful of clients we’re very excited about and we’re about haaaaalfway through the production cycle. We’ll share it with y’all when it’s ready. In the meantime, I’ll work at getting less antsy.
Onto the links.

A Project
We worked with the talented team at Modus Agency on the launch of a new payroll app for ADP. It’s called Roll and it came out this week. Pretty cool, if you’re a small business owner looking for a simple (and affordable) payroll solution. We wrote some podcast scripts (among many other things)—so if you hear a 60-second ad for a first-of-its-kind payroll app, it’s Emmy-award winning writer Noah Davis’ handywork. I just send the emails.

A Book
Kill Switch: The Rise of the Modern Senate And the Crippling of American Democracy
I picked up Kill Switch by Adam Jentleson, who worked for former Senator Harry Reid, because I never paid attention in history class (and forgot everything). Jentleson has been on NPR, like, three days a week talking about the filibuster. Figured I’d read his book. It’s good so far—I’m about 2/3 the way through—and I’m compiling a lot of talking points to annoy the group chat and deploy during boozy Zoom hangs. tl;dr Mitch McConnell is evil.

A Recipe
Crispy Tofu with Maple-Soy Glaze
I’ve made this super simple crispy tofu recipe a few times the past month. Was never really a tofu guy—with the exception of takeout pad thai—but I’m fully converted. I’m a soy boy now.

A Run
It’s still ski season here in Michigan. Though the snow’s days are numbered with temps in the 40s, so I’ll have some hot running content for my fans again soon. Before the temps rose I skied a couple hours in a snowstorm and my beard froze. I’ll spare you all the pictures.
A high school kid from Ann Arbor ran 3:57 in the mile.
