Christmas and New Year’s falling on a Wednesday is the most confusing of weekdays, schedulewise. At Three Point Four Media, we aim to take a week off around the holidays because we deserve it and no one in the creative services-adjacent world is doing much of anything either. But it begs the question: Should the 23rd be a work day? What about the 2nd and 3rd? A conundrum indeed.
We decided no. A big push to get a lot of things done by the 20th—and there really were a lot of things to do—and then coast into 2025. Functionally, “being off” means we don’t have our morning meeting. If something urgent comes up or the vital biweekly newsletter needs to be written, we’ll take care of it. As a two-person business, time off is as much of a state of mind as it is a physical reality. And that’s just fine.

A project
Due to writing this ostensibly on vacation, only one thing to highlight today: I suspect 2024 will go down as, uh, a weird year. Acumen America had a successful 12 months, however, and we tried to capture that in 2024 year in review: Doubling down on what works. From a non-objective perspective, this is much better than many of the other VC year-end summaries.
Please like and follow on LinkedIn. Or don’t. Would respect either decision on that front.

Enjoy this time. Hug someone you love. Throw a snowball. Take a nap. See you in early January.
